Im struggling myself to find the right leather to use for these kinds of projects, ive tried some myself using Veg tanned Kangaroo leather which is about 0.8-1mm but I find them a bit flimsy. what leather are you using for this?

Coming from wood crafting, it's a bit disappointing to see a fellow crafter use imprecise measurements like ounces. But aside of that, loved the in depth info. Thx!

Can you speak to this stunning leather, what it is and how it differs from other lots you have used previously? I don't recall seeing you cover your anvil to prevent scratches in the past and your comments certainly suggest you are as taken with the quality as we are. anybody know what leather he is using here (veg tan, chromium, thickness, tannery, color, etc)??

With the tec sew 4800 machine What do i need to get going. Thread size, how many bobbins, light. I need four different colors. What am asking how to get the parts needed. Do you have a list to help out or Is there someone that I could call to get what I need. Thank you for helping.

Leather is a incredibly tough material and in some cases machines can produce a better finished part than human hands can. The machines in the beginning of his video, the punch and skiving machine can produce a more consistent piece than doing it by hand. I see no harm in trying to make the end product as perfect as possible. It’s obvious that the maker assembled this piece by hand with superior results. This bag is heirloom quality that will out live us all and will be passed down to future generations. You just can’t ask for more than that. Job well done!

Great video! I wonder if making this wallet is as simple as getting the patterns and buying veg tan leather at your local leather store? No one seems to show that the leather from the store are not conditioned nor finished. Would be great to see a video on making a wallet with leather directly bought from the store and the steps on how to complete the finishing process.

I don't understand what creators think is so great about minimalist wallets. I don't like them and I NEVER see anyone ever using them. I am always scanning people paying at the register and no one ever carries little wallets.
